Who we are
RateBuck operates a mortgage-rate comparison website. This notice explains what we collect when you use it and why. We do not sell your personal information.
Analytics we collect
We use first-party analytics (Microsoft Azure Application Insights, acting as our service provider) to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Data stays within our own cloud tenant. We record:
- Pages viewed and navigation within the site.
- Interactions such as which lenders and products you view, filters you apply, scroll depth, and when you open the Ask Buck assistant.
- Coarse, state-level location (derived from your IP at the time of collection), device type, and how you arrived (referrer / campaign tags).
- A daily-rotating, pseudonymous identifier used only to count returning visitors within a single day. It is not tied to your name or email and is not a durable cross-site identifier.
What we do not do
- We do not record session replays of your screen.
- We do not use third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels.
- We do not store the content of your Ask Buck messages for analytics — only that the assistant was opened or used.
- We do not collect your name, email, or financial details on this site.
Retention
Analytics data is retained for a limited window (approximately 30 days in our active store), after which it is aggregated or removed. We keep only what we need to understand product usage.
Your choices
We honor recognized browser privacy preferences where applicable. To ask a question about your data or request that we stop collecting analytics about your visits, contact us at the address below.
